The devastating death toll and crisis in Myanmar (Burma) is a tragedy that touches all of our hearts. Estimates of between up to 220,000 people killed, millions homeless.
The military regime has now allowed only 1 USA place with supplies into Myanmar
They cannot help its own people all contribute to this massive human tragedy.
The aftermath will be homelessness, diseases from mosquito borne sicknesses such as malaria and dengue fever, from poor sanitation such as cholera, ill health through starvation as the already limited food supplies diminish, those in hospitals, the weak and sickly, the elderly and infirm and the young children and babies will rapidly deteriorate as health services are stretched beyond their capacity.
Farms that are little more than substance farming have been wiped out , the few available crops destroyed. It will take months before there is any relief.
There is NO government aid. No assistance. No help.
Vision Christian College has 6 colleges in Yangon and Mandalay. This represents over 1,000 people through their families. Through our contacts in Yangon with men we can help.
One of our contacts in Yangon will be in Sydney next week, he has been on a ministry tour while this tragedy has occurred and he will return to Myanmar in two weeks. We will give him the funds we raise. ( I dare not name him on this site for concern that the authorities may identify him, stop him on entry, search him and confiscate the money he will take in.)
